Advent at St. Andrew’s

Light in the Darkness – Sunday 1st December, 4pm
On Sunday, December 1st, in addition to our regular morning worship, we will hold a special afternoon service at 4pm titled “A Light in the Darkness.” Christmas can be a challenging time for many, and this service will provide us with an opportunity to express our sorrows, remember our loved ones who have passed, and find hope in the Christmas message.

Christmas Gift Day – December 8th
This year’s Christmas Gift Day is on Sunday, December 8th. We will be collecting gifts for Barnardo’s Family Project in Loughlinstown, which supports families in need, particularly focusing on preschool children.

This year, there is a higher need for items for boys aged 3-5, especially warm outerwear (jackets, fleeces, etc.) and toys like balls and toy cars. Cash donations are also appreciated to help with utility bills and grocery vouchers. Please give any cash donations to Gordon or Norma Henderson. Please remember, due to regulations, Barnardo’s cannot accept second-hand goods.

Carol Service – December 22nd
We will also be hosting our Carol Service on December 22nd at 4pm. This is a traditional service of Bible Readings and Carols that tells the Christmas Story of the birth of the King of kings, followed by festive refreshments. There will be no morning service that day.

Choir practice for the carols service will take place after church on the first three Sundays in December. Everyone is welcome to join us!

Christmas Day – 9:45am
We meet on Christmas morning for a short, child-friendly, service to praise God for the birth of Jesus
